When I was a kid we never used to have cool gadgets like this. My two year old daughter already knows how to use a iPad fully. She can unlock it, swipe through the pages/apps and open/play her games. This is unbelievable that today’s kids has this knowledge. I used to pretend to be superheroes running around in my backyard, but as they say “Kids these days”. I feel old. Luckily, the VTech InnoTab 3S: The Wi-Fi Learning Tablet is not old…in fact it is brand new and really cool. This device is a tablet and also a learning tool for our kids. It comes with a kid-safe WIFI connection, built-in camera/video recorder, eReader, Games, MP3 Player and Art Studio. It comes stocked with 20 apps that are already installed and it also included an expandable memory up to 32GB (along with the 4 GB of internal memory storage).
Skins provide low profile protection with no bulk and protects your VTech InnoTab 3S from scratches. The unique weaved adhesive allows for fast, easy and accurate application, and goo-free removal.
I took a few minutes to explore the Innotab 3S my self and here are my personal thoughts. I think the internet safe browsing is a fabulous upgrade for the tablet. It allows for me to add sites that I feel offer safe content for him to play on. The tablet is a bit touchy for site selections and it does require a bit of pressure to select items. Which can be good and bad as a feature. My son doesn’t mind the time it takes to load sites. It has a swirling circle that he follows or loading dots that he counts up on. For me it seems to take a while but you know adults we’ve become spoiled with 4G internet. I love that Vtech Innotab 3S allows for me to see his progress in the parental portal and offers information for me to help him improve by knowing what his weakness and strengths are. I think that Vtech has made some fabulous improvements and it’s good to see that they are answering prayers of concerned parents offering safe ways for kids to use the internet and parents to select that content. Here are just a few of the sites that I loaded to my son’s InnoTab 3S for him to access. I limited use to 4 hours and certain times of the day. This was done right from the tablet and I even accessed the site first to get the thumb nail photo to show up so he can see what the site is until he learns how to read.
With its improved controls, increased storage and bundled rechargeable batteries, the VTech InnoTab 3S is an attractive tablet for those who bought the previous iterations. But the laggy performance frustrates, and its addition of a MicroSD card slot (rather than the SD slot of old) is a head scratcher.
