I'm sure that Halo assault rifle you mocked up for Halloween 2004 was nice and all. But unless it's also a fully functional Nerf gun that holds three magazines and "a bunch" of darts, you lose. Here's the video proof:
A mini-showcase of my low-poly, game-ready Halo assault rifle 3d model. Model made in 3ds Max 2012 and the textures were painted in Photoshop CS5.
From afar, you'd never guess that this homemade Halo assault rifle is based on the NERF Recon CS-6 toy. Its creator, Moz, says: "I decided to keep all the functionality of the nerf gun to give me something to show off. (cocking, loading, etc) This project has been on and off for about 2 years now." Video after the break.
Recently on showcased a really neat airsoft replica of the classic Halo assault rifle. The gun itself features a digital round counter with a reload-able magazine, working LEDs, and an overwhelming feeling of awesomeness.
